Ahmed Rufa’i Mohammed is a professional investment manager and seasoned administrator. He has over twenty five years experience in Project development and Portfolio Management garnered through extensive work and courses in these fields. He began his working career in a development finance institution, Kano State Investment and Properties Ltd, immediately after graduation from Ahmadu Bello University in 1976. He rose from an Investment Executive to become the organization’s Finance Controller in 1984. In 1991 he joined the biggest public sector pension fund in the country, Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund, as AGM and became GM (Investment and Treasury) in 1993. In 2002 he became the Fund’s MD/CEO. During his stewardship the Fund grew from under N20 billion to over N50 billion and was the biggest Fund under management by any financial institution in the country at the time. Ahmed Rufa’i was also responsible for the smooth transition of the Fund under the new pension legislation introduced in 2006 by the Federal Government by setting up Trustfund Pensions Plc with legacy funds of over N 50 billion to become the largest privately managed pension fund in the country. He voluntarily resigned in 2007 after his first term appointment to move into the private sector. He joined the Board of Northbridge in 2008 and was appointed CEO in June of the same year.

Ahmed Rufa’i Mohammed has served as Director of many companies including Afribank Nig Plc, First Securities Discount House, Nigerian German Chemicals Plc and Profund Securities Ltd. He currently sits on the Boards of Royal Exchange Plc, Royal General Insurance, Royal Prudential and Royal Finance Ltd. He is a fellow of the Institute of Public Administration and holds a post graduate certificate of the Manchester Business School and first degree in Business Administration from ABU in 1976.

Abiodun Akanbi is a Chartered Stockbroker with over ten years experience in both the money and capital markets. Before joining Northbridge, he had worked at Lead Capital as the head of the Abuja and Northern Region. He was responsible for business development and securities trading where he contributed immensely to the successful transformation of the Abuja office. Biodun had also worked with APT Securities Broad bank and UBA Plc.

Akanbi holds a Bsc in Economics from Bayero University as well as Msc in Banking and Finance and an MBA all from BUK. He is an Authorized Dealing Clerk of the Nigerian Stock Exchange and an Associate of the Nigerian Institute of Management.

Jamilah Haladu joined Northbridge Investment & Trust Ltd in 2007 as a pioneer staff in Kano Office and she is presently the Company Secretary also Heading Administration.  She is a highly motivated and versatile lawyer who before joining Northbridge had been a co-founder and administrator of Balarabe Haladu Islamic Academy, Kano.   She did apupilage with J.B. Majiyagbe (SAN) & Co and served in the Legal Department of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC).

 

Jamilah holds an LLB, Civil Law From Ahmadu Bello University, is a Barrister at Law and is pursuing a Masters in Business and Commercial Law from Bayero University, Kano.

Hussaini Yeldu joined Northbridge in 2006 and is presently Head, Corporate Finance and Investment banking. Before joining the Company he had worked with Greenwich Trust Ltd as Head, Corporate Finance as well as with the Securities and Exchange Commission, the apex regulatory authority of the Nigerian Capital Market. Hussaini holds a Bsc in Business Administration acquired in 1994 and an MBA from Ahmadu Bello University.

Hussaini has extensive experience in structuring financial plans for capital-raising and has supervised other staff in a number of our corporate assignments for Private Placements, Initial Public Offerings and offers for prescriptions. A

Paul joined Northbridge in 2005 as Head of Finance. Before then he had worked with a firm of Chartered Accountans as an Audit Senior and at Adkan Services Ltd, a real estate development company, as the Company’s Internal Auditor. He also at one time had a successful teaching career coaching students for professional accounting examinations across the country. Paul, who presently oversees the efficient operations of our robust Finance Department, is a versatile Associate member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria and the Certified Pension Institute as well as a Chartered Stockbroker. He also holds a Bsc in Accounting from the Ahmadu Bello University.

Kate is presently our Head, Wealth Management. She joined Northbridge in 2006 from BGL Ltd where she worked as a pioneer staff of the Company’s P/Harcourt Regional office. Kate is a highly resourceful person with considerable business development experience and management acumen which she applies well in accounts management.

Kate has attended several courses in asset management. She is an Associate member of the Institute of Management and the Institute of Capital Market Registrars and also holds a B.Tech degree in Agricultural Economics & Extension from the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Bauchi.
